Biography
Founder of Layali Alkhaima. Music composer and Oud player.
Oud Rayan (Rayan Alsaggaf) is a Saudi oud player, composer, and musician, born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in March 1981 to Saudi parents. Widely known among fellow musicians and oud players simply as "Oud Rayan," he is largely self-taught, having picked up the oud in the early 1990s and carried it with him throughout his school and university years, even as he pursued an entirely different academic path.
He studied in Colorado, USA, earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems in the early 2000s before returning home to build a career in his field, eventually becoming a certified IT and communications consultant. Music, however, remained his enduring passion — his early releases included the singles "Dagiga," followed by "Ehsas" and "Khayal."
In 2016, he founded Purevision, a company for managing musicians, concerts, and events, gathering fellow musician friends for intimate musical gatherings that began in a small tent — the origin of what became "Layali Alkhaima," his now well-known musical evenings. He is also a member of the Saudi Music Association, founded under the Ministry of Culture.
